Bogiez takes over Barfly

Bogiez has announced a new venue most of us know it as Barfly. The following is from www.bogiez.com.

Bogiez Rock Club has been a major mainstay in Cardiff for (literally) decades. It has a pedigree like no other Rock club both inside and outside of Wales and from it's beginnings as a full time venue on Penarth road, through the sad fallow years when Bogiez wasn't around but when the memories and passion never waned. Thenceforth to it's rebirth at the Engine Rooms, it's truly legendary growth within the Church of Rock at the Point and it's further evolution at both the Venue and it's current home of the Millennium Music Hall it has always been part of the Welsh Rock, Metal and Alternative scene. Wherever you go, whichever rocker you speak to, they will always have a story concerning “one of those” Bogiez nights.

And now it's time for Bogiez take things to where they should be.

Nay, to take things where the Welsh Rock Scene DESERVES them to be.

And so Bogiez is becoming what it once was, and what it now shall be again and forevermore. Bogiez will be a bona-fide, 100% ass-kicking, soul-shaking, bone-tingling, body-moving rock bar AND nightclub.

It's something we've wanted to do for many, many years, but we've never wanted to rest on our laurels. We wanted the right venue at the right time and in the right location. The stars have alligned and that time is now!

So, from February, Bogiez will be located on the Kingsway, in a building many of you will already know, that of the former Cardiff Barfly, and boy can we tell you that we are already banging our heads with excitement over this venture. The South Wales rock and metal scene has been crying out for a truly dedicated rock bar that's for the rockers, run by rockers and without any trendy management interfering with a night of pure rock fury for as long as we can remember and Bogiez is finally in the position to make this happen, and we are absolutely over the moon about it (and hope you can join us in being so).

We will soon be releasing full information on what will be happening together with where and when this insanity will begin kicking out the jams, but for now we'd like to whet your whistle by leaking the news that we will be open throughout the week from midday onwards as a rocktacular bar and will be holding multiple club events deep into the night. Including, of course, a dose of the purest Bogiez club-insanity EVERY Saturday night, together with nights that bring together the finest rock-related clubnights Cardiff has ever held throughout each and every week.

And of course, with Bogiez now being a full-time venue it allows so much more scope to really do the hardcore ass-kicking rocker justice on their night out. Live bands? Hell Yeah! Open Mic nights? Just try to stop us! Specialist evenings and a DJ roster of faces you know, faces you once knew and faces you will know? The biggest Zombie breakout of all time couldn't stop us! We're going to rock harder, faster and considerably more than EVER before, and we're hoping to put events on that suit every single one of you with no stone unturned and no rock un-hammered, and if there's something you think is missing when we're open and firing on all cylinders you can damn well let us know and we'll get it fixed!
